Comic Book Reviews: Simon Dark #5 and and Tiny Titans #1

We’ve got Newsarama Reviews of three more books in this episode. We’re definitely recommending the very dark Simon Dark #5. There’s lots of great qualities about this issue plus the art is really enjoyable.

As for Nova Annual #1, we felt this was a well written annual that continues to move the story along in the Annihilation Conquest series.

We also got our hands on the cute and cuddly Tiny Titans #1. We absolutely loved the cartoony style and it’s definitely an enjoyable issue for all ages.

Then in the Speed Round we review Ubu Bubu #1, Maintenance #8, Abe Sapien #1, Nightwing #141, and All New Atom #20.

In our mailbag, a viewer asks if we could pull a “Quesada” (Like the Amazing Spider-Man Brand New Day series) and retcon any character or team, what would we do? Hear what Alex, Justin and Pete have to say about this.

If you had to write a book review for school what should it contain?

I am writing a book review on the book called The Seven Daughters of Eve. I am not so certain how I should consrtuct it.

I would first decide what the overarching theme was - what was the point? How did the characters grow, or learn, or change? Were there any counterpoints or sub-plots that reenforced that theme?

Second, I would go into detail how the author developed the character, or characters, and the plots and sub/counter plots all in the effort to develop the theme. This should be the main focus of the essay. Describe how the theme(s) all come together to reach the author's intended conclusion

Next and finally, I would give my criticism of the book. Was the buildup enough. Were the various plots resolved, were the various themes concluded? Did the author effectively use imagry, plot movement, all the literary devices available to effectively get his/her theme across. How successful was he?

Finally, be sure to construct all of these into a standard essay.

What book should I pick for my book review in my politics class?

I need suggestions for a book for my politcal government class book review. My review has to be about the main theme and sub-themes of the book. I can choose from a list I was given or ask the professor to let me do another one he/she approves. I want a book that is easy to read and short. I also want one that has analysis I can find easy on the internet. Things like chapter by chapter summaries and in-depth insight into the core of the book and message of the author. I know I most likely can't get all of that in one, but basically I want as easy as a time I can get with it. I would have posted the book list but it is way too long. Thanks for your help.

If you were Spanish, Iwould say "The Black Book Of America".

Regards

Comic Book Review - Brand new day The Red Hulk and more!

I’ve sadly run out of graphic novels that I can recommend it will take a few weeks before I can recommend anything new.

But as a result I’ve got more comics to review.
I lay in on my opinion of Brand New Day the new Spidey storyline. The Red Hulk and it’s start. JMS takes us back to 1945 then brings 1945 to 2008. Superman has Chris Kent explode and I can only hope it’s the end of that. Nightwing is still the best Batman book there is IMHO, and I finally get around to talking about the return of Ra’s Al Ghul.

Also please go vote for the site at http://www.bloggerschoiceawards.com/blogs/show/37993
