Please tell me what is wrong with my book review site?

I have made a book review site, and it doesn't seem to be working out well. books.rainbowbliss.net ….Do you have any suggestions to help me? improve the site?

I don't really see what's wrong with it.
maybe you just need to get a name on the net, so people will know where to look…you have a few sites where you can register, so they'll put your site there.. but I wouldn't know which ones right now..

What is the most realistic Sat review book for SAT II MATH?

Please don't say Barron's best for review because I want to know what book is MOST SIMILAR to the real one. Thanks. :) If anyone can also tell me if the collegeboard board "real" tests they sell are easier or about the same as the actual test, that'd be great too.

Princeton Review is most similar to the actual test. I just took the Biology SAT II today, and 4 or 5 of the questions were the EXACT ones I saw in the review book. I also saw a very similar chart.

Princeton is very easy to understand.

And as for the Collegeboard review book: get that. It has practice tests that are exactly the same difficulty as the actual SAT II. (Some of Princeton's review questions are a little harder than anything you'll see on the test day.)

I need help writing a book review?

The book is "War of the Worlds" by H.G. Wells and I need some hints or tips on how to write one. I have never done it before and it has to be 2 pages long. Please dont give me a review of the movie, this is an English assignment not Film Studies. Thank you.

You could talk about how scary the novel was when it was written. How many books were out there written about London being under attack by tripods from outer space? That's pretty imaginative and ahead of it's time. Also think about what was going on in the world when it was written. Was H.G. Wells making a social commentary on what was happening in the late 1800's?

Comic Book Reviews: Uncanny X-Men#495 and Detective Comics

We’ve got THREE Newsarama Sneak Reviews in this episode. First, Uncanny X-Men follows up the conclusion of the Messiah Complex. It’s a great jumping on point for anyone unfamiliar with the X-Men if such a person actually exists.

Then, we get a Batman Animated series feeling from Detective Comics #841, helmed by Paul Dini. We take back all the bad things we said about Paul Dini.

And we got our hands on the premiere issue of Clandestine #1, slated to hit the stands on Wednesday. Alex recommends it based on the artwork alone, but is it worth picking up?

Then in the speed round, we check out Fist of Justice #1, Captain America #34, Black Adam #6, Black Summer #5 and Madman #6.

Today in the Stack Mailbag, we tell you which comic book characters we would date if we could. Who wouldn’t want a superhero for their valentine?

Head over to our forums to talk about today’s episode with other comic book fans like you!

What GMAT review book did you find most helpful?

I'm looking for a good GMAT review book or books that will give me a good realistic preview of the test. I'm looking for one that have sample questions that are the same difficulty level or harder than the test. I dont want this thing to blindside me and I have NO idea what to expect

Also, did you pass the first time you took it?

I think the third writer more or less has it right, but let me add a few points.

First, make sure to get all three GMAT Official Guides. There is the general one, and then the smaller ones for quant and verbal. They each have different questions, and you need to get as many as possible. Download the GMAT Prep software. It's two real CAT tests, and its free from MBA.com.

Second, I like the Manhattan GMAT books, but they are a bit thin (but still better than a lot of other stuff I read, and for sure better than Kaplan, PR, etc. I just wish they were longer). If you want to dive in more deeply, Veritas has a book on advanced math that was useful, and Powerscore has books on sentence correction and critical reasoning that helped me. If you are looking for scores above 650, those are great additions to what you have been recommended already.

Comic Book Reviews Umbrella Academy 6, Countdown 11 and more

Thanks to Erislaughs and Odouglasj on YouTube for letting us use clips from their videos!
http://youtube.com/odouglasj
http://youtube.com/erislaughs

We got another Newsarama Review from the floating head of Pete on the wrap up of the final Umbrella Academy. We thought this issue was well done and lived up to the hype. We give it 5 floating heads out of 5!

As for Countdown to Final Crisis, Pete’s floating head wasn’t too happy with the issue, but we heard from artist Jimmy Palmiotti that the series is going to end with a bang.

Wrapping up with New Avengers #38, it’s all about the Skrull invasion. We thought it was a great read and a lot of fun so be sure to pick it up.

In the Speed Round, we review Captain Marvel #3, Spooks #1, Green Arrow and Black Canary #5, Dead of Night #1, and Amazing Spider-Man #550.

In the Mailbag you guys asked if we ever made our own personal comics.

And finally, we’re turning the cameras on you guys. YouTube user odouglasj reviews the first “digital” comic, Shatter from 1985 and erislaughs runs through some of her stack.

How do I write a book review for school?

I need to read 1776 for my US History Class as a Pre-Class Assignment (Summer Work) and I need to write a 5 page book review (double spaced size 12) I don’t know how to write a book review. What should I include/leave out?

Begin with a small introduction to the book itself. Title, author, etc. In the same paragraph, include a 1 - 2 sentence summary of the book. Since you were required to read this book, write one sentence saying why or why not you enjoyed it, if allowed.

For the body paragraphs, break the book into sections. For example, section one could be chapters 1 - 4. Summarize these chapters in your first paragraph. Continue in this fashion…

For your conclusion, briefly rewrite your intro. Summarize your summaries. Use big words and Spell Check constantly. If you’re really stressing as to getting five pages, make the margins slightly smaller.

Check out sparknotes.com. I visit the site whenever I’m confused on a book, it’s very helpful. Don’t plagiarize, though.

Hope this helped, and good luck in your studies!

Book review and opinion on The Bhagavad Gita?

I'm not asking for a homework pass. I have been assigned to write a book review on my opinion and what I liked about The Bhagavad Gita. I have read the book and it sounds true and has interesting and unique ideas but that is about all it does for me. I only have one page written & it is supposed to be 3. HELP! What was your opinion on the Gita? What specific parts or chapters did you find interesting?

I read the Gita every once in a while. I'm intrigued by many of its teachings, especially that of acting without attachment to the act.

I have one problem with the Gita, and it's a big one. In the first chapter, Krishna tells Arjuna that it's okay to kill members of his family who are on the opposing side of the war. Krishna says it's okay because the soul, which is the essence of a human being, can never be destroyed, even if the body can.

I can't quite come to terms with condoning murder.

That war took place around 3,000 B.C. In those days, when a husband and father died, his family's very survival was stake. If an unmarried man died, that might be the end of a family's name. And Krishna says it's okay to do this to your own family!

If nothing else, no one has a right to interfere with another person's karma. Murder prevents one from becoming wiser and more devoted, and perhaps burning off some karma, which would bring him closer to leaving the cycle of Samsara.

Yet, at the same time, my favorite line is:

"Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings, nor in the future shall any of us cease to be." (2.12)
