User Submitted Comic Book Reviews: Blood’s Own and More

For this edition of The Stack, we’re reviewing viewer submitted comics. First up is Brian Andersen’s debut issue of So Super Duper. This comic book is about a super hero who might be gay but he doesn’t know it. We think it’s worth a look. Then we check out Warlash #0 from Asylum Press, which we think feels like Judge Dredd meets zombies. And finally we review Blood’s Own #1 from Antidote Comics. We’re a little critical of this comic, but we definitely enjoyed it and think it’s worth picking up. We’re looking forward to the second issue.

See more from Antidote Comics at Antidotecomics.com Check out the other issues at SoSuperDuper.com and Warlash.com. In our panel discussion we talk about whether comics should be free. Alex thinks so. Watch and find out why.

Whats a good way to close or conclude a book review?

I'm doing a book review for 9th grade english, and I find that I am rambling on through my review then suddenly I do not have a good way to rap it up, help please!
[due Friday]

-Sean

The simplest ending is a kind of summary of the main reason you like the book, and who you would recommend it to. For example:

"I highly recommend this book to anybody who loves a good mystery, because it kept me in suspense all the way through."

Book review suggestion for American History?

I have to write a book review for a college American History class. I has to be modern history of the U.S. Fiction or non-fiction. Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Eh . . . maybe something like Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser, its fiction and was written during American modernism. Or, you could always go with the good standby, The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, it definitely pertains to American History, modern and otherwise.

What is the best AP Biology review book for the exam?

I am taking the AP Biology course next year as a sophomore.
What do you think is the best review book for the exam? Barron’s, Princeton Review, 5 steps to a 5, REA, Cliffs, Kaplan, AP Biology for dummies, and the list goes on…
Also which one would go best simultaneously with the course for further thoroughness in the course.
Thanks!
Also, would it be good to use multiple books with the course.

I used Cliffs third edition, and scored a 5 for the 2008 ap exam.
I was a sophomore with no prior Biology either.
Many say Cliffs third edition is great for Biology
I also hear 5 steps to a 5 is good.
I got Cliffs because it was simple enough to understand, because what's the point of getting somethign you won't understand, right? =)

CGR Comic Book Review - THUNDERCATS #1, based on TV cartoon

Classic Game Room Comic Book Review reviews the very first, collector’s item issue of THUNDERCATS #1! Thundercats was an iconic 1980’s cartoon show about a group of half-cat, half-man (and woman) heroes from a distant world and a distant time… who lived on Third Earth? Well, full of plot loopholes and inconsistencies, Thunder Cats was still exciting and entertaining. Back in the day we watched the Thunder Cats cartoons as Lion-O lead the heroic Cat people in battle against Mumm-Ra and his loyal, evil followers. How does this comic book compare to the beloved TV show? Should you pick up issue #1 from Marvel Comics and their Star Comics branch? Check out this review as we look into the comic book artwork, the story, writing and characters. This first issue introduces us to Liono, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara (rrowrr!), Snarf, the Wondertwins and Mummra. These are some cool cats, dig it? They fly through space and wear latex body armor and carry weapons! Meet the Sword of Omens! Miss the first episode of the THUNDERCATS, well pick up the story with this comic book. It’s an entertaining read and one that you may enjoy so check it out as CGR Comics reviews, THUNDERCATS #1, based on the popular THUNDERCATS cartoon show which was made to hock the THUNDERCATS line of action figures, toys, vehicles, playsets, swords, t-shirts and plastic tank cat things! Keep watching the CGR Comics comic book review show for none of the latest comic book reviews, only old ones.

write a book review on the perks of being a wallflower ?

Pretend you are working for the Boston Herald or Globe (major city newspapers) and write a newspaper review of the book for the Arts and Entertainment section. 500-800 words. Your review should present your opinion of the book, backing up your argument with EXAMPLES AND EVIDENCE FROM THE BOOK. you should also comment on what type of reader would like this book. your view must SHOW YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE BOOK by refering to SPECIFIC characters and events, but you SHOULD NOT reveal the ending or any surprises in the novel that would spoil it for your loyal newspaper subscribers.

Haha. ^ what alisha said.

but really, its a great book. You should read it.
