Comic Book Reviews Booster Gold X-Force 1 Fantastic Four 554
Today’s show starts off with some very big news: James Robinson is going to be writing Superman starting with issue #676 in May. James Robinson is best know for writing Starman. Also, Geoff Johns has re-signed with DC Comics to write exclusively for DC.
Then, we’ve got three Newsarama Sneak Reviews starting with Fantastic Four #554 with a new writer and artist team: Mark Millar and Brian Hitch. We’ve got a couple of gripes, but overall we’re very happy with the new direction and we’ll tell you why.
Then, we’ve got Booster Gold #0, written by Geoff Johns. We counted four Blue Beetles in this book. Time travel paradoxes aside, this is a book we highly recommend you pick up.
And we’re also highly recommending the highly anticipated X-Force #1. Lots of action and a must read for X-Men: Messiah Complex fans.
In the speed round, after years of waiting we’ve finally got Rob Schrab’s Scud #21, Star Wars Rebellion #11 (because you guys asked for more Star Wars), Doktor Sleepless #5, Space Doubles #1 (a three-fer!) and Teen Titans: Year One #2.
In our viewer mail, Brad asks how important are fights and physical action in comic books. Are fight sequences the most important thing?

No more Teams with …
No more Teams with Wolverine on them.. I’m sorry, but I’m really tired of Marvel whoring Logan out left and right to sell nearly every book they have. Avengers, X-Force & X-Men!!! This is worse than when Marvel over used Cable & Ghost Rider in the 90’s.. I love Wolverine, but give the guy a rest. Over exposed indeed.

Great show as always, one thing though; Wolverine is Canadian so he can’t run for President Wolverine for PM of Canada though definitely! Oh man I just thought if you could get Wolverine as Prime Minister of Canada and The Punisher as President of the United States that would be so sweet!

Depends on the license. GI Joe has always been fantastic.. Used to read them all the time. Nowadays, I just stick to super heroes.

Justin said he’s …
Justin said he’s not read Star Wars comics before; do any of you guys read titles based on licensed properties? I’m interested to know what your views are in general regarding licensed comics compared to those with totally original content. For instance, do you think it’s a good idea that the Buffy universe is continuing in comics or do you see them as less valid than the TV series?
Personally I’m all for licensed comics. I love Buffy & Angel, GI Joe and Transformers.
