Does anybody read the book review before reading the book?
I enjoy reading, and I wanted to make a blog, posting my own book reviews, recommending stuff and telling what to stay away from… But does anyone read that? I mean, is finding a book review = something that most people do?
I do, most of the times.
Lots of people look up the reviews either before buying or reading a certain book.

I usually read the review first.

It depends on the book… if it’s in a book store or if my friend is shoving it into my hands, then no. But if I read about it online and it sounds interesting than I’ll look at the reviews.

yeah i do most of the time, but they never influence my decision. most people that i know who read reviews dont take them seriously, if someone wants to read a book, no amount of “bad” reviews will stop them

I always check amazon.com
You can get more than one review there and you know that if most people rated it favorably it’s probably a good book.
If you review books quite well, people can watch for and read all your reviews there.
I think it’s harder to generate traffic to your own blog on book reviews unless you’ve established a good reputation for doing so.
I write them for a small newspaper and I know my section is hardly ever read. How much harder would it be to attract readers to your blog…
